Grow your own Purple Jalapeño chillies from seed with this striking twist on a classic favourite. The fruits develop a deep purple colour that lasts for an extended period before ripening to a rich oxblood red. Similar in size to traditional Jalapeños, they have thick, fleshy walls and a satisfying heat, making them ideal for homemade salsas, nachos, pizza toppings and pickling.

These attractive plants produce a colourful harvest, particularly when pickled alongside green and red Jalapeños. The fruits can also be smoked and dried to make chipotle-style chillies for adding depth to sauces, soups and stews.

At South Devon Chilli Farm, our chilli seeds are sourced from chillies grown here in Britain, germination tested and only sold when they meet our 90% germination standard.
