This set of three seedlings contains our favourite compact ornamentals, ideal for growing in a confined pot or windowsill space. 

The varieties included in this set are:

1. Explosive Ember

This plant has had many admirers in our show tunnel over the years as well as our award winning RHS Rosemoor Garden and Flower Show 2023 display garden. Purple leaves and purple to deep-red fruits about an inch long. Approximately 30,000 to 50,000 SHUs

2. Cha Cha

This variety is very prolific and very attractive. It produces an abundance of yellow/orange pods that are perfect for Thai dishes. The fruits can be used fresh or dried and made into powders/flakes. Since this is a small compact plant (no more than 30cm high normally) it is ideal for a windowsill. Approximately 50,000 to 70,000 SHUs

3. Prairie Fire

This is a very compact bush with small fiery chillies that mature from yellow to red. It is ideal as a small pot plant and produces an abundance of small fruits that sit attractively above the foliage canopy. This is probably the quickest growing of the hot chillies we sell and a good choice for a kitchen window sill; perfect for growers with limited space. The fruit is quite pungent and is well suited to adding a good amount of heat to curries and stir-fries. Approximately 70,000 to 80,000 SHUs.

We try our best to keep this list up to date. However, if the varieties advertised are not available at the time of packing, the best substitute will be used.

Growers Guide

These chilli seedlings respond well to warmth as young plants; 25°C is the ideal temperature.

Seedlings will need to be potted on. We recommend using Fertile Fiber peat-free compost. We use this product ourselves and found that it has the best properties compared to all the other pear-free composts currently available. Note that any additional items bought together with pre-order seedlings will be shipped at the same time as the seedlings when they are ready which is normally from March to May.

Shipping

Seeds are sown in Jan or Feb and we start sending our plants as soon as they are ready. Plug plants are usually available to ship from about the end of March onwards. But this is very weather dependent and can vary by several weeks. We will endeavor to notify our customers when the seedlings are likely to be ready closer to the time of shipping.

Two delivery options are available, Royal Mail and DPD, and both offer tracking. However, while the DPD is a next day service, Royal Mail is a 48-hour service, so naturally, the DPD price will will be higher. Shipping prices will be calculated based on the quantity of items in your cart and will be clearly displayed at checkout before you pay. The seedlings can survive for serval days in the post since they are well watered before shipping and a few days without light will not harm the seedlings. 

Please be aware that if you place an order that contains a mix of 'pre-order' and 'buy it now' items, your order may be delayed until all items are ready to send. This is because we aim to send your entire order in one shipment. Thank you for your patience.
