In this set of six seedlings we've compiled our favourite and most popular Hananero chillies. These varieties offer the best combination of heat and flavour. They are perfect for making homemade sauces.

The varieties included in this set are:

1. Red Habanero (approx. 350,000 SHUs). This is the classic chilli used widely across the Caribbean and West Africa. In Trinidad is sometimes referred to as a 'Congo Pepper'.
2. Chocolate Habanero (approx. 300,000 to 450,000 SHUs). The popular chocolate version of the Habanero. It has an intense heat and unrivalled fruity habanero-like flavour.
3. Paper Lantern (approx. 350,000 SHUs). This is similar to the Red Habanero, but the fruits are shaped like lanterns that hang down and the walls of the fruit are thinner so they dry quicker.
4. Marigold Habanero (approx. 30,000 to 50,000 SHUs). A medium to hot hybrid that originated randomly at the Chilli Farm. We believe that the variety is stable, but as with most hybrids, there is small chance that there may be differences in the fruits. We have grown this out for a few generations and it appears to be stable. But please note that there may still be some variations in the fruits. But whatever their shape/colour, they are definitely flavourful!
   
5. Mini Meanie (approx. 150,000 to 200,000 SHUs). A unique variety we found a few years ago in our display tunnel and named Mini Meanie - Compact size and Mean heat! A Habanero type chilli that looks similar to 'Fatalii', but on a small size plant.
6. Big Sun Habanero (approx. 250,000 to 350,000 SHUs). A large yellow variety of Habanero. Fleshier and more waxy than the thinner fleshed Orange Habanero.

We try our best to keep this list up to date. However, if the varieties advertised are not available at the time of packing, the best substitute will be used.

Growers Guide

These chilli seedlings respond well to extra warmth as young plants; 25°C is the ideal temperature.

Seedlings will need to be potted on. We recommend using Fertile Fiber peat-free compost. We use this product ourselves and found that it has the best properties compared to all the other pear-free composts currently available. Note that any additional items bought together with pre-order seedlings will be shipped at the same time as the seedlings when they are ready which is normally from March to May.

Shipping

Seeds are sown in Jan or Feb and we start sending our plants as soon as they are ready. Plug plants are usually available to ship from about the end of March onwards. But this is very weather dependent and can vary by several weeks. We will endeavor to notify our customers when the seedlings are likely to be ready closer to the time of shipping.

Two delivery options are available, Royal Mail and DPD, and both offer tracking. However, while the DPD is a next day service, Royal Mail is a 48-hour service, so naturally, the DPD price will will be higher. Shipping prices will be calculated based on the quantity of items in your cart and will be clearly displayed at checkout before you pay. The seedlings can survive for serval days in the post since they are well watered before shipping and a few days without light will not harm the seedlings. 

Please be aware that if you place an order that contains a mix of 'pre-order' and 'buy it now' items, your order may be delayed until all items are ready to send. This is because we aim to send your entire order in one shipment. Thank you for your patience.
