This is probably the most well known of chillies. Very versatile with medium heat, fruits 3" long. Ideal for nachos, stuffing for 'poppers', salsas, pickling and general cooking.
These are fully ripened red fruits.

Amount: minimum 5 fruits (but will vary throughout the season).
Colour: red
Flavour: bell pepper flavour, but with heat.
Heat: 6,000 - 8,000 SHUs
Recipe
Poppers - Slice fruits in half lengthwise, de-seed, fill halves with cream cheese, re-assemble chillies, dip is whisked egg, dip in breadcrumbs. Put in freezer for 2 hours, then deep fry and drain. Serve warm.
Storage
Fresh chillies keep for a couple of weeks in the fridge. All chillies freeze well and slicing and pickling is another way to preserve chillies.

The fruits were all fresh, plump and ripe. They were bursting with fruity flavour and had just the right level of heat for jalapeño ketchup, not too hot, not not mild.
Wanted something milder to pack out a fermented Thai Sriracha. These were just the job. Really nice fruits and a generous number of peppers per "item". Second week into ferment, seems to be going well (never done a chilli ferment before even though I'm an experienced home brewer). Recommend
