7-Pot Dougla 1 Litre Pot Plant

A chocolate version of the infamous 7-Pot chilli which originated from Trinidad. The name 7-Pot came from the believe that one chilli can be used to flavour and spice up 7 pots of food, if not more!

The term 'dougla' is a colloquial, but, importantly, it is not a derogatory term which is used in Trinidad & Tobago to describe a a mixed-race person of African and Indian descent, especially with respect to the skin colour. So the pepper is called this because of its genetic background being of mixed origins. 

Heat level: Approx. 900,000 to 1,200,000 SHUs. Learn about Scoville Heat Units (SHUs) here.

Harvest: Pick when the fruits have reached their maximum size. Fruits ripen from green to chocolatey brown..

Size: Plants can get quite tall, well over 1m and will require support.

Packaging & Shipping Information

Plants are sent in 1Ltr (13cm) pots. Each plant is securely packaged in a recyclable cardboard box. The pot is wrapped in a biodegradable plastic bag to prevent any moisture from damaging the cardboard box any soil from falling out.

Each plant is hand selected by our horticulturists and carefully packaged. The box is marked with a way up sticker to notify the courier and handlers that it contains live plant material and that it should be handled with care.
