The Explosive Ember Chilli is a stunningly colourful variety that combines ornamental beauty with an impressive display of vibrant fruits. This eye-catching plant has attracted many admirers in our show tunnel over the years, as well as featuring heavily in our award-winning RHS Rosemoor Garden and Flower Show 2023 display garden.

With its striking purple foliage and masses of colourful fruits, Explosive Ember makes a fantastic feature plant for patios, containers, balconies, greenhouses and ornamental borders.

The fruits are approximately 1 inch (2.5cm) long, developing through shades of purple before maturing to deep red, creating a spectacular contrast against the dark foliage.

Harvest: Starts fruiting about 120 days from potting on as seedlings and under good growing conditions. Pick when the fruits have reached their maximum size. Fruits ripen from green to red.

Size: This is a small compact plant (no more than 30cm high normally) and is ideal for a windowsill.

Pot Plant Packaging

Plants are sent in 1Ltr (13cm) pots. Each plant is securely packaged in a recyclable cardboard box. The pot is wrapped in a biodegradable plastic bag to prevent any moisture from damaging the cardboard box any soil from falling out.

Each plant is hand selected by our horticulturists and carefully packaged. The box is marked with a way up sticker to notify the courier and handlers that it contains live plant material and that it should be handled with care.
