Grow your own Piment d’Espelette chillies from seed, a famous French Basque variety prized for its distinctive fruity flavour, gentle warmth and deep red fruits. Traditionally grown around the village of Espelette in the French Basque Country, this is a chilli valued for its flavour and versatility rather than simply its heat.

The fruits mature from green to a rich, vibrant red and can be used fresh, dried or ground into Piment d’Espelette pepper powder. 

Our Piment d’Espelette chilli seeds are thoroughly germination tested, with a target germination rate of 90% or higher, so you can grow with confidence. All our seeds are grown and packed by us at South Devon Chilli Farm using 100% renewable energy.

With its excellent balance of flavour and mild-to-moderate heat, these chillies are a fantastic choice for cooks looking to grow something a little different.
