The Piment d’Espelette Chilli Plant is a famous French Basque chilli, prized for its distinctive fruity flavour, gentle warmth and deep red fruits. Traditionally grown around the village of Espelette in the French Basque Country, this variety is particularly valued as a culinary pepper rather than simply for its heat.

The fruits mature from green to a rich, vibrant red and can be used fresh, dried or ground into the famous Piment d’Espelette pepper powder. With its excellent balance of flavour and mild-to-moderate heat, it is a fantastic choice for cooks looking to grow something a little different.
