The Marupi Purple is a striking ornamental and culinary chilli variety, producing dark purple stems and eye-catching fruits that mature through a spectacular range of colours. The pods begin olive green with deep purple tones before ripening to gold, orange and finally a vibrant red.

As the fruits mature, they develop a delicious fruity flavour alongside a satisfying heat, making them ideal for fresh cooking, sauces and salsas. For the best flavour, allow the pods to fully ripen before harvesting.

Heat level: Approximately 50,000 to 80,000 SHUs.

Harvest: Pick when the fruits have matured. Fruits ripen to an orang-ish/red-ish/brown colour. 

Size: The plants can grow to 2m high and produce a perpetual crop throughout the summer provided you keep picking them. Plants will need supporting.

Each plant is hand selected by our horticulturists and carefully packaged. The box is marked with a way up sticker to notify the courier and handlers that it contains live plant material and that it should be handled with care.

Pot Plant Packaging

Plants are sent in 1Ltr (13cm) pots. Each plant is securely packaged in a recyclable cardboard box. The pot is wrapped in a biodegradable plastic bag to prevent any moisture from damaging the cardboard box any soil from falling out.
