Hungarian Black is a striking Hungarian heirloom chilli with an unusual combination of ornamental beauty and useful kitchen appeal. The sturdy plants produce attractive purple flowers followed by glossy, jalapeño-shaped fruits that develop from green to deep purple-black before finally ripening to a rich red.

With a medium heat of around 5,000–10,000 SHU, Hungarian Black is hot enough to add a worthwhile kick while remaining versatile for everyday cooking.

Pot Plant Packaging

Plants are sent in 1Ltr (13cm) pots. Each plant is securely packaged in a recyclable cardboard box. The pot is wrapped in a biodegradable plastic bag to prevent any moisture from damaging the cardboard box any soil from falling out.

Each plant is hand selected by our horticulturists and carefully packaged. The box is marked with a way up sticker to notify the courier and handlers that it contains live plant material and that it should be handled with care.
