Fresh Jalapeño Chillies
This is probably the most well known of chillies. Very versatile with medium heat, fruits 3" long. Ideal for nachos, stuffing for 'poppers', salsas, pickling and general cooking.
Depending on the time of the year, your order may include a mix of red and green Jalapeños. Early in the season (July to Sept they are mostly packed as green. Later into the season, from Sept onwards, the pack will include some red/ripe ones).

Amount: minimum 5 fruits (but will vary throughout the season).
Colour: green (occasional red/ripe ones)
Flavour: fresh green bell pepper flavour, but with heat.
Heat: 6,000 - 8,000 SHUs
Recipe
Poppers - Slice fruits in half lengthwise, de-seed, fill halves with cream cheese, re-assemble chillies, dip is whisked egg, dip in breadcrumbs. Put in freezer for 2 hours, then deep fry and drain. Serve warm.
Storage
Fresh chillies keep for a couple of weeks in the fridge. All chillies freeze well and slicing and pickling is another way to preserve chillies.
