The Anaheim Chilli is one of the classic ‘New Mexico’ or ‘Hatch’ chillies, also known as the ‘New Mexican Chilli’. A popular and versatile variety, it produces long, smooth fruits with a mild to moderate heat and excellent flavour.

The fruits are deep green when young, gradually ripening to a rich red, and can reach approximately 18cm long and 4cm wide. They grow on tall, productive plants reaching around 50cm, with good foliage cover that helps protect the developing fruits.

Anaheim chillies are particularly well known for their versatility in the kitchen and are excellent for stuffing. They can also be roasted, grilled, sliced into sauces and salsas, or used to add a gentle warmth to a wide range of dishes.

Harvest: Starts fruiting about 65 days from potting on as seedlings and under good growing conditions. Pick when the fruits have reached their maximum size. Fruits ripen from green to red.

Size: The plant can grow to 1m high and will require support.

Pot Plant Packaging

Plants are sent in 1Ltr (13cm) pots. Each plant is securely packaged in a recyclable cardboard box. The pot is wrapped in a biodegradable plastic bag to prevent any moisture from damaging the cardboard box any soil from falling out.

Each plant is hand selected by our horticulturists and carefully packaged. The box is marked with a way up sticker to notify the courier and handlers that it contains live plant material and that it should be handled with care.
