Fresh Pepperoncini chillies (5 fruits)

This Italian chilli is a great chilli for pickling - little or no heat, and delicious when pickled in white wine vinegar.

Amount: minimum 5 fruits (but will vary throughout the season).

Flavour: Sweetcorn/pod-peas.

Heat: MILD.

Notes: Usually sold green, but may be red later in the season.

Storage

Fresh chillies keep for a couple of weeks in the fridge. All chillies freeze well and slicing and pickling is another way to preserve chillies.
